Vitamin B

Vitamin B in almost all of its forms is another one of those essential vitamins for vegetarians. Another essential vitamin for vegetarians is Vitamin C. It is readily available in fruits and green leafy vegetables. An important point to remember is that when overcooked, most vitamin C will be destroyed. Orange juice that is processed does not contain much Vitamin C, but it is found in freshly squeezed juice. It can be found readily in parsley, broccoli, green peppers, grape fruit, oranges, potatoes, spinach, kiwi and tomatoes.

Vitamin C has enormous benefits to the body it builds up the immune system by cleaning the body of any toxins and radicals. This then means that the body is free to fight any infections. Vitamin C supplements may be taken by both children and adults; the only thing that varies is the quantities that are administered.

Vitamin D

In its purest form, vitamin D is absorbed from the sun; it is another one of those essential vitamins for vegetarians. It can also be found in fortified cereal, soy milk, vegetable oil, margarine and rape seed oil. Lacking enough Vitamin D in the system can cause hypertension, diabetes and osteoporosis. There are also studies that have shown that having sufficient amounts of vitamin D in the system can help in preventing some forms of cancer.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E has antioxidant properties and can do wonders for the body. It is available in nuts, sunflower seeds, olive oil, and avocados. Sunflower seeds require one to acquire a taste for them but once you do they have enormous benefits to the body. They can be eaten raw as a snack instead of junk food. Avocados are full of essential fatty acids which are good for you. These oils are easily digested and contrary to popular belief they do not build excess fats in the body. It is a good source of vitamins for vegetarians.

Vitamin K

Vitamin K is found in seaweed, green leafy vegetables, olive oil and molasses. They form part of the essential vitamins for vegetarians.
